Though I was born in Tennessee, I’m a West Coast guy through and through. I spent the earliest of my memories in San Diego before my dad retired from the Navy and we settled in Arizona. I graduated with a BS in Computer Science from the University of Arizona – followed by an MBA from the very same school. Go Wildcats! #BearDown
These days, my love of technology has brought me to appreciate modern approaches to marketing. Ask my parents what I do and they’d say “something with computers and Facebook” – and I guess they’re not far off. I love spending time outdoors with Laura, getting our cars dirty, and wearing our shoes out.
Laura and I met after an Aravaipa Group Run in 2016. A year and a half later, I proposed to her in the wilderness of Yosemite. We were miles away from any road, so it would have been really awkward if she hadn’t said yes. I’m glad she did, and couldn’t be more happy to be marrying her this October. I’m ecstatic to be spending the rest of my life running + traveling + exploring the world with her!
I grew up in a small town close to St. Louis on a 20-acre nursery that my dad owns. I grew up loving the outdoors, playing sports, and camping. I ran cross country and track in high school and halfway through college. I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Maryville University.
I moved to Phoenix the same day I took my board exam for Physical Therapy (not originally the plan, but how things turned out). I came to Phoenix for the chance to run and hike more in nicer weather and because my sister has lived here more than a decade.
I met Josh after a group trail run that I had been actively engaged with for the past few months before we met. Josh was very into trail running like me and we bonded over our love for running the trails. Our favorite past time is waking up very early in the morning to run approximately 15 miles on trails and then go to get brunch and some beer someplace back in Phoenix. Our future goals for our life together involve exploring the outdoors, camping, backpacking, and constantly striving for the next adventure we can get our hands on.
